A golf hook is one of the most common errors golfers make but fixing it is not as hard as one thinks.

In order to overcome this mistake, you must closely examine the cause of the hook.

It is very important that you first know what is making you do this wrong.

If you know the cause, then it will be very easy for you to fix it.

Causes can range from a closed club face to a wrong club grip.

Here are some of the major tips on how to fix a golf hook.

A hook can be usually attributed to the ball spinning on a counterclockwise direction.

In this manner of spinning, the ball will continue to spin as it gets faster resulting in the ball curving to the right or left.

The position of the club should be neutral.

To fix a golf hook, one should look at his grip. In setting up, look at your hands.

You know that you are doing it right for a good grip means you can see at least two of your knuckles and the club face do not point to the left or the right.

If it does, then you should try again. You are doing it the wrong way.

You may not get it the first time but it is best that you try and try until you get it right.

It is also important to keep in mind that seeing three or more knuckles actually mean that you are not gripping it the right way.

After checking your knuckles take a look at the face of the club, is it square?

Usually you will notice that it is.

However, even when you see that it is square and in line, the moment you swing the club, it may not be square anymore.

This is where the grip comes in. As soon as you swing down, your grip becomes neutral and the face will naturally close upon impact.

If you really want to fix a golf hook, you should pay attention to this tip.

Most players take this tip for granted and usually gets back into the wrong grip when they swing down.

With that, they do not get the whole thing right and so their game suffers.

You do not want that to happen and so you must put these in your mind and try it out the next time you are on the range.

After the grip, make sure that your balance is fine.

Put your weight at the balls of your feet not on your heels.

This would enable your hips to turn smoothly and balance your body. An off balanced body will result in the ball being hit to the left or right.

As the club hits the golf ball, your left arm (for right handed players) should be straight.

This would allow for the ball to have a good follow through.

These tips will surely help you fix a golf hook but if you don’t practice, these tips are nothing.

These improvements take time.  All you need is a little perseverance and a little patience.
